Pastor John B. Taiwo
President CAMC Worldwide
Pastor John Babatunde Taiwo (JP) was born on October 27, 1956, as the first of six children. He hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In 1964, he moved to Lagos, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He encountered Christ during a New Year’s Eve service at Christ Apostolic Mission Church (God’s Glory Parish, Ilupeju) in 1981. Afterwards, he joined the choir and the prayer band units of the church.
As a devoted member, he led the prayer band for several years until he received a divine call to go into full-time ministry. In preparation for this assignment, he enrolled at Faith Bible College and Seminary, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, where he was ordained a Reverend and earned a Doctor of Theology degree in 1991.
By the leading of the Holy Spirit, he applied for ministerial duty in 1992, which officially commenced in May of the same year. His strong foundation in the Word and in prayer endeared him to the Founder, Apostle John Ajayi Agbona (1920–2001), who retained him at the headquarters. He later served for four years at Christ Apostolic Mission Church, Ijebu-Ode Parish, before being redeployed to the headquarters in January 2000.
On August 19, 2000, he was appointed Vice President of the Mission by the Founder—a position he held until March 2022, when the Mission’s Management Team unanimously elevated him to President of the Mission following the passing of Pastor S. A. Ajayi (JP) in January 2022. This elevation fulfilled a prophetic word given during the annual CAMC Ministers’ Retreat in 1999.
The Lord has continued to confirm His word through His servant with numerous signs and wonders, and Christ Apostolic Mission Church is recording remarkable growth under his leadership. Pastor J.B. Taiwo was married to Deaconess Cecilia Olufunke Taiwo, who passed on to glory in July 2025. Their union is blessed with four children.
